A model of coastal tourism development that has been decanting mainly to the product of “sun and beach”, despite the fact that the climatic conditions are not the most favourable. In this territorial context, Sanxenxo has established itself as the main tourist destination in the Rías Baixas (Galicia) and throughout this wide stretch of the coast. Its tourism development model is materialized in the predominance of the residential tourism offer. The hotel offer, characterized by small and medium-sized family-run establishments, plays a secondary role. This research aims, through a qualitative methodology, to analyze which are the main territorial strategies and how they are related to the tourist imaginary developed throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.
