Since the economic crisis of 2008, the problem of access to housing has been accelerating and affecting wider sections of the population. If at first the problem was for the people affected by the mortgage, over the years the problem has expanded to rents and to the population in an irregular situation. At the same time, however, social movements have emerged to defend housing. Analyzing the case of Barcelona, in the first instance with the Plataform of People Affected by the Mortgages (PAH), and later with the Tenants’ Union and neighborhood social movements, they have been organizing to stop the evictions. Our research focuses on 1) a mapping of all the evictions published by the PAH of Barcelona (2016-2022) and all those published by the Barcelona Evictions Telegram channel (2018-2022), a channel that groups the different movements of defense of housing in Barcelona; and 2) to create a participatory and collaborative tool for mapping eviction orders, which works with groups and for an improvement in housing defense management. The analysis of the maps allows us to see the different collectives fighting for housing, their effectiveness and the properties of the large owners of housing.
