The research is set in the context of decentralisation studies and starts from the mapping theoretical framework._x000D_
In this context it delves into the theme of the localisation of university activities in suburban or peripheral areas as a settlement option functional to education._x000D_
The resulting spatial result is analysed, therefore, in the light of the motivations that generate delocalisation but, above all, of the territorial effects that derive from it in terms of settlement, logistics and services._x000D_
The reality of university campuses, from this point of view, appears to be a very interesting field of investigation._x000D_
From a geographical perspective, university relocation to suburban areas is analysed, on the one hand, in relation to the host locations, in order to understand the demographic, social and economic dynamics that may result. On the other hand, it will be interesting to represent the spillovers in relation to urban and non-urban territories close to the campuses. This perspective aims to understand the capacity to generate networks and aggregations for territorial development._x000D_
The reformulation of places is, finally, deepened at the local scale through a case study._x000D_
At the same time, the study will attempt to highlight the critical factors associated with the relocation of university services, outlining, in particular, the policy needs expressed by universities, especially in relation to the need for services_x000D_
